Web Navigator Setup - Adding and editing products in API


Items - Web Navigator Builder

Description - New feature added for Websites. Now you can add the Navigation menu for your Website in iControl and assign it to products. This allows items to be sorted in the right area without having to change your reporting groups. This also allows the ability to edit your Website from iControl. For example, web navigators can be used in MyBistro to classify items as Entrees, mains etc. 

Please contact support if you wish us to import a standard menu for you. However, below explains how to add your own navigators. 
It is important to keep in mind that:
  • The Web Navigator is set by each Location
  • No changes will be made or sent to the cloud until an initial load is completed

Step by step instructions 

1. Open the items module in iControl. 
2. Click the Web Navigator Tab.



1. To add a new web navigator, right-click on the location and select 'Add Sub Item'.

2. Add the name of the web navigator 

3. Repeat this process to add another Item classification under the web navigator group. In the below example, the White Wine classification was added, then Sauv Blanc was added as a subgroup.
TIP - Take note of the color of the line when you're adding SubItems. It will always add underneath Sub Items that are Red.






















Adding web navigators to items

Now we need to add the web navigator to an item. 
1. Open your desired Item
2. Open the Location you want to add the navigator to 
3. Click the Pick button to the right of the Web Navigation field. 
4. Select the Web Item required. 
Helpful Note - There is also an option to apply the Web Navigation via the Mass Price calculator. This allows you to add the navigators to multiple items simultaneously.
